Dr. McAndrews is a native of southern Iowa, graduating from Cardinal High School in Eldon. She received a B.S. from the University of Iowa and her Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago.   Dr. McAndrews has practiced in Durant since 1979 and in Davenport since 1988. She has practiced at the Eye Care Pavilion since 1993.

Dr. McAndrews has served as past president of the Mississippi Valley Optometric Society, a member of the Iowa Board of Optometry Examiners, and is past president of the Iowa chapter of Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity. She has participated in over twenty missions to provide eye care to the needy in underdeveloped areas of the world.

Dr. McAndrews is an active member of Grace Lutheran Church. She and her husband, John, live in Davenport and enjoy traveling, hiking, bicycling, folk dancing, and ballroom dancing.
